Spectromill® Ball Pestle Impact Grinders
Blend and comminute samples using the most advanced technology in ball pestle impact grinding. Sample powders are uniformly reduced in particle size, configuration and distribution for thoroughly homogeneous mixtures in readiness for direct XRF analysis.
Energetically propels one or more ball pestles together with a sample substance from one end of grinding vessel to the other in a figure-8 path of travel. Upon impact with a contoured-interior end of a SpectroVial® the ball pestle impacts, shatters and mulls the sample material. The direction changes and repeats at the opposite end. The comminution and blending processes are controlled by the hardness of the sample substance, quantity, time, hardness and volumetric capacity of the vial and number of ball pestles. The process is fast, efficient and continuous until completion.
Engineered for maximum stability for quite counter top operation with state-of-the-art shock absorbing materials. A solid-state electronic timer with an LCD countdown display; audible alarm alerts cycle completion. Safety features. CE certified.
Choose from Two SpectroMill Models
SpectroMill-I has one variable size vial clamping mechanism for single sample processing. For multiple sample preparations of different materials, a SpectroVial® Adapter is available extending its applications.
SpectroMill-II has two variable size vial clamping mechanisms for simultaneously handling two separate samples. The use of SpectroVial Adaptors extends its utility to more dissimilar sample processing.
SpectroMill-I Comminutes One Sample or More Simultaneously
SpectroMill-II Comminutes Two Samples or More Simultaneously
