Compressible Sample Pelletcup® Briquetting Cups
Transform powdered samples into firm durable solid briquettes protected on all sides excepting for the surfaces to be analyzed. Minimize potential hazards of breakage or flaking apart. Facilitate introducing into briquetting dies. Simply fill a PelletCup® with the powdered sample substance, place into die and briquette in usual manner. Simplifies handling for x-ray analysis and allows storage for future referrals.
Tapered-Walled, Aluminum. The most popular, precise and versatile for briquetting virtually all types of powdered samples. Taper tends to reduce cracking and fissure development attributed to stress and strain during the briquetting and ejection process. Very close outside diameter tolerance minimizes sample particle entrapment between the die bore and PelletCup when used with evacuable die sets. Filled PelletCups gently float down into the die cavity on a cushion of entrapped air further reducing the likelihood of spillage.
Tapered-Walled, Plastic. Similar to their aluminum counterparts excepting shallower and accommodating less sample volume. Lubricious plastic quality helps facilitate briquetted sample ejection from the die with less resistance and exposure to potential stress and strain fissure development.
Straight-Walled, Aluminum. Walls are perpendicular with respect to the flat bottoms and diameters are much smaller. Acceptable where potential crack development from stress or strain and spillages are not important issues.
Note: For best results and close tolerances, use with Evacuable Stainless Steel Dies.
